When I was a kid I had a pink teddy bear with the softest fluffiest fur. Then it got dirty and my mom threw it in the washer and dryer and it came out with nasty nappy fur. I loved it anyway. I got rid of the teddy bear when I thought I was too old to have childhood paraphernalia. My toy/comfort items turnover rate was really high.
Matthew had a security blanket named mum mum until he was like...15. When he was younger, he used to have anxiety attacks if he couldn't find it before bedtime. I used to hide it around the house and secretly laugh as he and my parents looked all over for it. It was funny until they threatened beatings if I didn't tell them where it was. I did it all the time anyway.
